PPEaF MEWPS

Safety comes first when working at heights. As workplaces at height have a high risk and potential for falls, it is important that you understand the risks and you can safely use the personal protection equipment against fall (PPEaF). This PPEaF training therefore provides you with the knowledge and ability to counteract the risk of falling from heights.

The objective of this training course is to raise awareness of fall protection and the risk of falling accidents, to identify the risks of falling accidents, and to communicate the safe use of fall protection. After performing this fall protection PPE training, you can safely work at heights.

During the training you will first get to know the theory which will be directly put into practice. After a successful theoretical and practical exam, you will receive the corresponding certificate.

The training course consists of the following topics:

Theory:

• Legal foundations and regulations of occupational safety
• Simple fall physics (occurring forces, fall factor, …)
• Hazards due to misuse
• Risk analysis
• Range of services of personal protective equipment against fall
• Storage & care
• First aid (suspension trauma, secondary injuries, …)

Practice:

• Equipment check before use
• Correctly putting on the safety harness
• Use of fall arrest and restraint systems
• Demonstration of a fall (dummy)
• Hanging in the safety harness
• Rescue exercises

Good to know

This training is suitable for working on mobile elevating work platforms, ladders, mobile scaffoldings, etc., where there is a risk of falling due to height. With this training you will learn to work safely at heights.
